Use V+ing in thses situations : 

- after verbs like : LIKE/ LOVE/ HATE / enjoy / adore 

EX : I enjoy playing football. 

- after GO when talking about activities : go camping / go hiking / go swimming ...

EX : Most of my mates go swimmimg at the pool.

- after START/  BEGIN / FINISH / END ...

EX ; I have begun jogging in the morning .

- after :IT'S NO USE / THERE IS NO POINT IN / IT'S NOT WORTH ...

EX ; It's not worth spending your money on bets . 

- after preposition : to / on ...

EX ; She has switched to speaking English immediately after his appearance. 

- after : AVOID, SUGGEST , DENY , RISK , ADMIT , CONFESS , LOOK, REGRET 

EX : She denied being involved in the crime . 

The other situations are followed by TO INFINITIVE , with the exception of :

- modal verbs : can / may / should/ must ...

EX . You must go now, 

- after MAKE SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING / LET SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING 

EX.  His parents made him apologise for his mistake.
